Daily closures on SR 542 to Artist Point start Monday, Oct. 4

Travelers on SR 542 between Silver Fir Campground/Anderson Creek Road, a half-mile east of the Shuksan Maintenance Facility (milepost 47) and Artist Point (milepost 57.26) should plan for daytime closures of the highway in both directions, from Monday, Oct. 4 through Thursday, Oct. 7. During this time, our crews will work to complete annual maintenance along the highway to prepare for upcoming winter operations. What travelers can expect:

• Monday, Oct 4 to Thursday, Oct. 7, a full closure of SR 542 from Silver Fir Campground /Anderson Creek Road (just east of the Shuksan Maintenance Facility at milepost 47) to Artist Point (milepost 57.26) from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
• Starting at 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct 4, intermittent lane closures at Excelsior Trail Head between mileposts 40 and 41 for maintenance on the edge of the parking lot.
